we can justify it by an activity-

take a beaker and add some water in it.take a teaspoonful of salt and add it in the water . after some time you will observe that the salt has dissolved in water and the level of war has also not changed this happens bcoz salt particles occupy spaces between water particles.this shows that there is space between the particles of matter hope it helped

To justify this, at first, take a measuring glass or beaker and add some water in it.
Then take a teaspoonful of salt and add it to the water in the beaker.
After some time, you will notice that the salt molecules have broken down in water and the level of water still hasn't changed much.
This occurs as the salt particles possess spaces between water particles and so it proves that there is a space between the particles of matter.

naman112: yes
TasmiaJ: why do you think so?
TasmiaJ: this is really common general answer
TasmiaJ: I didn't think you didn't know that
naman112: oh sorry
TasmiaJ: It's okay
TasmiaJ: sorry if I was too rude
naman112: its okay
