Although gravity is helpful for maintaining muscle balance and other bodily functions, astronauts and cosmonauts have thus far managed perfectly well without it. The very modest simulated gravity that a rotating craft of this size can provide makes some things more convenient, but passing through the interconnecting tunnel isn’t really going to involve anything new.
