How will you prepare 500 ml of 0.2 N Hcl from concentrated Hcl.​

The density of HCl (concentrated)=1.18g/mL=(1.18/36.5)/.001 mol/L =32.33 M

As the purity is 36% amount  of  [HCl] available=32.33 x 1.36=11.64 M  

MiVi=MfVf; here Mi=11.64 M,Vi=?,Mf=0.2 M, Vf=500 mL

Vi=(0.2 x 500)/11.64 =8.59 mL  

So 8.59 mL of concentrated HCl is needed to make 500 ml of 0.2 M HCl
