Answer:

methoxy Ethane can be prepared from Canal in following ways

Explanation:

  1. biomolecular dehydration of alcohol

when ethanol and methanol are heated with concentrated sulphuric acid at 150 degree Celsius, they undergo biomolecular dehydration to form methoxy Ethane but this method is actually useless for the preparation of unsymmetric it like methoxy Ethane due to the formation of finite product such as diethyl Ether and dimethyl Ether

2. Williamson Ether synthesis

primary alkyl halide react with sodium aur potasium alkoxide and phenoxide buy an SN2 pathway to form in excellent yield. this reaction is known as Williamson Ether synthesis

methoxy Ethane can be prepared from ethanol in two ways by this method :-

  1. by preparing sodium ethoxide by the reaction of Ethanol with sodium metal. followed by the reaction of sodium ethoxide and methyl iodide which will produce methoxy ethane
  2. by preparing ethyl chloride by reaction of Ethanol with PCL5 full stop followed by the reaction of ethyl chloride with sodium methoxide with well produced methoxy ethane

hope this helps you
