How will you prove that air supports burning?​

The proof is that if we ever cover a flame (burning) with a certain material that is not synthetic.As the material traps the oxygen content inside,it removes any oxygen which clearly shows us that fire depends on oxygen....

materials - jar / glass , candle , matchstick

method :

  1. lit up the candle with the help of matchstick
  2. now , place the glass / jar above the candle

Observation:

we will observe that candle stops burning after sometime

Explanation :

oxygen supports burning . the jar was having a limited amount of air ( means limited amount of oxygen ) . When the oxygen in the jar is used up , the candle stops burning .

Conclusion :

we can conlude that air ( mainly oxygen) supports burning .
