Light a candle,cover with glass after some seconds the candle stops burning.This proves that air supports burning.

Take 2 burning candles and place them on the table.

  Now cover 1 candle with an inverted glass tumbler.

 We will notice that candle covered with inverted glass tumbler blows out after some time, whereas the other candle continues to burn.

 This happens because there is no air inside the glass tumbler.

 However, the air initially present in the glass tumbler is used up in burning.

 This shows that air supports burning.
