Answer: Most of the mountain ranges are built along the plate boundaries where the plates are crashing together. Earthquakes in this situation, are highly correlated with mountain ranges, but they are not correlated with the growth of a specific mountain. You would not expect volcanoes in this type of continental collision.

Answer

mountains are of two type, tectonic and non-tectonic. we relate earthquke epicenter mainly with tectonic mountain. mountain are formed near the plate boundaries have more chances of earthquake, also earthquake caused by the faulting in more complex mountain like HIMALAYA. active volcano can also relate with mountain formation. for example ring of fire in PACIFIC ocean it the chain of active volcano originate mainly at subduction zone.

Explanation:

subduction zone- when oceanic and continental plate collide to each other then more ocean plate subduct beneath the continental plate due to denser in nature. hence this subducted plate on moving down and due to increased  geothermal gradient, plate start melting and finally brings a volcano eruption.

but in case of HIMALAYA , due to large thickness of crustal layer there is no volcano seen yet, but in future volano may erupt..
