Add hot water then sodium chloride and ammonium chloride will be in filtrate while sand will remain in filter paper. Now add AgCl(silver chloride) to filtrate, only ammonium chloride will form Ag(NH3) + something , we need to filter again to have NaCl in the filterate, add HCl to residue, AgCl will ppt and the solution of ammonia will be separated
