one of the simplest ways is to put the water and see the seeds that float on water and eliminate them as these seeds have holes between them and are not healthy.

(1) Take a beaker and fill half of it with water.

(ii) Put a handful of wheat seeds in the beaker.

(iii) Stir the water and leave the set-up standing for some time.

(iv) Observe the seeds carefully.

Observation

Some seeds float on water while others sink and settle at the bottom.

Conclusion

The floating seeds are damaged or unhealthy seeds while the seeds that settle at the bottom are good and healthy seeds. We should use the seeds that are settle at the bottom.
