As ammonium chloride is a sublime ,we can separate the mixture by a process called sublimation. In this take the mixture in a china dish and cover it with a funnel upside down then fix a cotton plug at the opening of the stem . Heat the mixture and a few minutes later you will observe that vapours of ammonium chloride rise up and get condensed at the inner walls of the funnel . And after sometime you will observe that ammonium chloride has solidified at the walls of funnel and sand is left in china dish. Scrape the solidified ammonium chloride out and you had separated the mixture
