we can keep a metal near fire and keep it for a while then check it that it is warm or not. or if you rubh a metal then you feel it warm . such experiments prove that metals are good conductors of heat . uses of this process is metallic cooking appliences.

there are a lot of experiments for proving that metals are good conductors of heat. We can take a metal rod(iron) and stick some wax particles into it in the same way as candles are kept standing. We then place one side of the rod in a stand and keep the other end suspended. We then heat the suspended end of the rod for sometime. After a while we can se that the wax stuck to the rod melts and falls down. This is because the rod has got heated. This is due to the conduction theory of heating. The heat is passed on to the entire rod. in simple words, this proves that metals conduct heat.
