How will you show the clock for a House lizard in winters?
Answers
Answer:
Like all other reptiles, house lizards are also cold blooded.
Most of the house lizards enter a dormant state, like hibernation, the this hibernation state of the lizards are called brumation. In winter time when temperature is toomuch cold to maintain a healthy system they took this state. Some of the reptiles basically do not enter brumation, but during winter they become slower than other times in a year and started to eat less.
Answer:
Lizards are cold blooded animals (ectothermic) that hibernate during winters. House lizards or Gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus) are not seen at home in winters. They are terrestrial in habitat so hide under rocks or tree trunks as their body cannot change its temperature according to the surrounding.
Whereas, in summers they are more active and seen in our houses. They are nocturnal, thus more active at night than day.
Thus, it’s not the clock in winters but summers that shows the presence of lizards. They are more active during night hours and exhibit sound similar to clock.
