• For this we need to take 2 potted plants of the same kind .
• And we have to keep one of them in sunlight and other in a dark room for 2-3 days.
• Take a leaf from both the plants and put it in a test tube containing spirit in it .
• Put the test tube in a beaker containing bolled water .
• Boil the water till all the green colour in the leaves comes out into the spirit .
• Take out the leaf and wash it with water and put the leaf on a dish and pour some iodine solution over it .
• The leaf kept in sunlight turns blue black whereas the leaf kept in dark room doesn't.
• This shows that starch is present in leaves .
