How will you test for a gas which is liberated when hydrochloric acid react with an active Metal???

When HCl reacts with any metal then it forms metal salts and liberate hydrogen gas.
So, We can test the presence of H2 gas by burning a matchstick near it and if it burns with a pop sound then it is H2 gas.
