test:
keep a burning match stick above the test tube in which the gas is evolving
if the gas turns off with a pop sound then the evolved gas is hydrogen.
if the above test is not working,
1. if it glows even more brightly then it implies that the evolved gas is oxygen.
2.if it turns off without a pop sound then pass the gas through lime water if it turns milky then it is carbondioxide
normally when acid is eis added to an active metal the hydrogen only will be evolved
but anyways it will be useful for your reference
