The gas liberated when hydrochloric acid reacts with a metal is hydrogengas. We can confirm the presence of hydrogen gas by bringing a burning splinter near the test tube.If the gasreleased is hydrogen, the splinter will extinguish with a pop sound.

The answer to ur question is..
Take the solution in a test tube and place a burning matchstick or candle at the mouth of the test tube..
U will hear a pop sound from the solution which indicates that hydrogen gas is liberated from the the solution.....
