Hydrogen gas is produced whenever HCl reacts with active metals.
As we all know that hydrogen gas is lighter than air, when the gas is passed through a soap solution.
It is seen that the soap bubbles escape from the solution. When the burner is placed the gas burns with a pop sound which happens due to the presence of hydrogen gas.
