take a small quantity of a food item or a raw ingredient. put 2-3 drops of dilute iodine solution on it. observe if there is any colour change in the colour of the food item. did it turn blue-black ? the blue-black colour indicates that it contains starch

Test of carbohydrates

Aim of the experiment :-To prove the presence of carbohydrate in food

Materials required :- food dropper delete iodine solution

Procedure :- A a small quantity of food to be tested was taken 2-3 drops of dilute iodine solution where I added to the food with the help of dropper

Observation:- Formation of blue black colour

Inference :- The given food sample contains starch reacts with iodine forming blue black colour
