Steps :
1) Heat the plant leaf in some boiling water for 30 seconds - stops the chemical reactions happening
2) Afterwards, heat it in boiling ethanol (be careful, ethanol is flammable), removes the colour from the leaf
3) Wash the leaf with water and place onto a tile
4) Now add the iodine from a pipette
The ethanol should be heated with a water bath!
If the leaf has starch in it, it should turn a bluey-black colour.
