Answer:

A quadratic polynomial cannot have only one zero.There must be two zeroes compulsorily,as it is quadratic.

But a same number can be the zeroes with multiplicity 2.

Further it can be Verified by substituting it in the polynomial's variable.

The roots of a quadratic equation can be found with the quadratic equation.

x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

Here, D = b^2-4ac which detrmines the properties of the roots of the question as follows:-

1. If D > 0 then the roots are real and unique

2. If D < 0 then the roots are imaginary and unique

3. If D = 0 then the roots are real and the same.

So, to verify if a quadratic equation has only one zero check if the value of determiner is equal to zero !
