I think according to me a household consists of all the member of the family from elders to infants.
If people live with members not of their own family then still they will be included in the household.

Answer:

A household can be defined by its primary family members.

Explanation:

A household comprises either a single person (or more) people that live in the same dwelling, under the same roof and perform sharing of meals. It can also be a single-family or a group of individuals

There are several households in a home when food and living space is not distributed. Households, blended families, family homes, clubs, boarding houses, and various and single-occupied housing types can be distinguished under the label of 'household'.
