1. If our backbone would be made up of only one bone then we would not be able to move our backbone as it would have no joint and would be just one long bone.

2. If our backbone could not bend then we could not, sit, walk, run or bend.

3. Hence, The backbone is made up of many small bones so that we are able to bend out backbone.
