Resistance is proportional to length - When wire length becomes half, the resistance becomes half.

Resistance is inversely proportional to cross sectional area; Diameter, becomes half, area reduces by Square of diameter i.e 1/4 times; Therefore, resistance becomes 4 times more.

Keeping points 1 and 2 together, the resistance becomes double
