An exotic species has the potential to wipe out the exotic indigenous species , some real life examples of such incidents are :

1) disappearance of Indian catfish due to introduction. Of African catfishes

2) the infamous eicchornoa (aka the terror of Bengal) it was introduced by queen victoria in india , it was an invasive weed , it grew and killed all.aquatic organisms by usilising all atmospheric oxygen

3) exclusion of Abingdon tortoise due to introduction of goats which were faster grazers than tortoises

There are many such examples , this removal of one species is called *competetive exclusion*
