How would the magnification of a telescope be affected by increasing the

◆ Magnification of a telescope -

Magnification of telescope is calculated as the ratio of focal length of objective lens to focal length of eyepiece.

Magnification = focal length of objective / focal length of eyepiece

  1. When focal length of objective is increased, magnification of a telescope will increase.
  2. When focal length of eyepiece is increased, magnification of a telescope will decrease.
