There are various experiments to explain and show how a green plan releases oxygen when exposed to light. However, in a laboratory or even a home setting, there is a very simple exercise which can be done.

Take a small plant and put a candle right next to it. Now, light the candle and cover both the candle and the plant in a glass cover, so it can observed.

If you do this experiment at night, the plant will be giving off carbon dioxide and you will see that the candle will automatically blow off in a few minutes. This is because fire can only be created if there is oxygen but carbon dioxide extinguishes it.

Now, repeat the experiment in the day. The plant will give off oxygen and the candle will keep on burning, thus proving that the plan is giving off oxygen
