how would we test the presence of starch in leaves?

by adding iodine in given food. if there is presence of starch it turns color blue black

Kabira1233: Iodine solution is used to test leaves for the presence of starch. You need to: heat a plant leaf in boiling water for 30 seconds (this stops its chemical reactions) heat it in boiling ethanol for a few minutes (this removes most of its colour)

By iodine test.
Simply take a leaf and crush it.
Then pour 2-3 iodine drops on it.
If it turns blue,then starch is present.
