Literacy rate in India:
According to the 2011 census there are 24.88 such houses in India, out of which 9.56 crore (38.42%) have at least 4 members who are able to read, write and both read and write but there are 2.42 crore (9.74%) houses in the country of which one member is illiterate. Compared to the 2001 census, 35.28 percent of the households had 4 literate members and 14.4 percent of the households were not one.
Suppose you want to calculate the Literacy Rate of Population Aged 10 and Above in Delhi for the year 2011, the number of literates is 9,42,592 and its population aged 10 and above is 10,09,478.
9,42,592 is divided by 10,09,478 = 0.93374199 then multiplied it by 100
0.93374199 × 100 = 93.37
