Density =mass/ volume
It is the mass per unit volume.
For e.g-
The mass of a body is 200 kg. And the volume is 100 cubic metre.
Then the density =??
Answer-
Mass =200 kg
Volume = 100 cubic metre
Therefore, Density = mass/volume
= 200 kg /100 cubic metre
= 2 kg/cubic metre (ans.)
**Note :: The S.I unit of density is kg/ cubic metre
Hope this helps you

Density -
✴Density of a substance is defined as the mass of the substance per unit of volume .
✴Density = Mass/Volume
✴SI unit of Density = kg/m^3
✴CGS unit of Density = g/cm^3
✴Density is the characteristic property of a substance.
✴The density of substance determines how densely the matter is packed in a certain volume of that substance.
✴D = mN . Where m = mass of one molecule , N = Number of molecules per unit volume
