we can demonstrate it by the process of photosynthesis .

during the process of photosynthesis, as we all are aware of since childhood, it's depicted that the plants consume carbon dioxide and release oxygen.
But how it actually takes place is demonstrated during the light phase of photosynthesis...
during the light phase, the photo system 2 receive the protons from the light which excite the electrons present there. Theses electrons are carried by electron carriers which transfer them to the photosystem 1 which send them to the ATP synthase for production of energy. all this takes place inside the chlorophyll! simultaneously in the membrane of chlorophyll there is water which continuously breaks to form 4H+ ions and O2 molecules. the H+ travel to photosystem 1 to recharge the electrons over there as i have explained above, while the O2 are released out through the stomata.
hope it helps
