The organization and functioning of Self Help Group:

• Self Help Group are groups of 15-20 members of rural people, especially women belonging to a neighborhood who gather and save resources on a daily basis.
• The members of self help groups can take small loan to meet with their needs on low rate of interest.

Functioning:

1. The group members take most of the decisions regarding the savings and loan activities.
2. The group as a whole decides as to which regards the loans are to be granted- the purpose, amount,  repayment schedule.
3. The Group itself carry the responsibility for the payment of the loan.
4. Any case of non-repayment of loan, by any one member of the group is followed up seriously by certain rules and regulation.
