How would you distinguish between baking soda and washing soda by heating?

Answer: On heating (baking soda), CO2 (carbon dioxide) gas is given out that turns limewater milky While on heating . 10H2O (washing soda) water of crystallization is given out and the salt becomes anhydrous.

Baking soda (NaHCO3) on heating produces carbon dioxide (CO2), which extinguishes a burning matchstick. But washing soda (Na2CO3. 10H2O) on heating does not produce any such gas, thus, it has no effect on burning matchstick.
