Napoleon’s rise can be attributed to several factors converging at that point in history. First, he was lucky enough to have come of age during the French Revolution, and the general chaos and turbulence, and the overthrow of an entrenched aristocracy, opened up opportunities that simply wouldn’t have been there for him in an earlier age.
