Two legislative councils were elected, who then appointed a Directory, an executive made of five members. Directors often clashed with legislative Councils and the latter sought to dismiss them. Political instability of the Directory paved the way for the rise of military dictator Napoleon Bonaparte.

After to the fall of Jacobin Government,The power went into the hands of Middle class and Rich people.The new Assembly was formed called Directory which consist of 5 executive and legislative council and they often fought against each other for decision and sought to dismiss them.This conflict paved the way of the Rise of Napolean. Who later Led a military coup in 1799 and become the emperor of france in 1804.
