State of humidity:

Humidity is the presence of water vapor in air. The condition of humidity states the likely existence of fog, dew or precipitation. As the temperature increases, the water vapor amount increases till the saturation point.

There are three primary measurements of humidity namely,

  • Absolute humidity- denotes the amount of water in the air and is expressed in \bold{g/m^3} or \bold{g/kg}. Mathematically it can be denoted as AH = \frac{m_{H_2O}}{V_{net}}
  • Relative humidity- present state of absolute humidity relative to maximum humidity in the same given temperature and is expressed in percentage. RH = \frac{p_{H_2O}}{p*_{H_2O}}
  • Specific humidity- the mixing ratio water vapor mass to the total moist air parcel mass.
