We are all typically overly dependant on our eyesight for interacting with our environment and are used to being able to orient everything we do and every place we go by visual recognition of things and knowledge of those things providing the information of distances between us and those familiar things. Absent this visual information which we are overly dependant on, we feel completely lost and quickly disoriented.
