how would you grant or refuse permission in each of the following cases? your colleague has requested to work on your computer in your office
Answers
To grant permission:
Yes, you may most certainly use my computer. It is not a problem at all. You can use the guest account. It does not need any credentials. It is not password protected. While you work on the computer, I will sort the paperwork. Whenever your work is done, let me know.
To refuse permission:
I am really sorry, but as a rule I do not let anyone use my official computer. I have had a couple of bad experiences. Each time some important files started misbehaving and I had to run to the maintenance department. Work suffered and I got pulled up by the bosses. You have a valid reason for not using your own computer. You can speak to the supervisor. I am sure he will understand. He might even have a spare computer lying somewhere around.
