I would treat him/her the same as any other coworker, unless he/she seems in need of cultural support because of language, or shortcomings in their training. Then we’d have a talk, and I would offer to help… trying not to offend them, At lunch or on breaks, I would try to get to know them better, and try to get them introduced to my other friends.
