Friendship and benevolence are the two principal traits among the houyhnhnms. As they do not know about enmity, falsehood, follies and vices all which are practiced in the human world. They always care for their young ones as well as the elders, they are rational, they are very honest. When Gulliver arrived at their place they could have treated him badly or killed him but they act with him in a very honest way as they only know friendship, benevolence and honesty.
