how would you know if the water is dirty if the water looks clean can you be sure that it is alright to drink that water

First of all we have common sense that we should not drink any type of water. We will filter the water or we will drink little amount of water and see its effect in our body.If anything happens then the water i dirty and nothing happend then the water is clear.
