To obtain benzene from chlorobenzene , there are some steps,it is not possible to remove chloride ion directly from the chlorobenzene

• So the transformation of benzene from chlorobenzene can be happened by dows process ,we will get phenol and by the help of zinc dust we will get benzene.

•At first the reaction is started with chlorobenzene and sodium hydroxide and C6H5ONa is formed,

•then it is reacted with hydrogen ion and formed phenol

• Then the phenol is turned into benzene in the presence of zinc dust.
