Answer:

I find this scale works better as a lot of things are a 0 because you have no strong opinion either way. So let's get into it… Looks, I try to always look

My looks I’d say are below average. Perhaps a 3 or 4. I’m not a stunning beauty turning heads when I walk down the street, but nor am I turning heads for the opposite reason. I can fare through the average crowd without feeling noticeable, to the extent I’ve frightened a couple of people waiting for me but not seeing me coming.

My personality… what does that really entail? I can be amiable if I feel like it, can have good conversations with perfect strangers, but I’ve been told I can be a bit frank by some, too vague by others, I can make myself more scarce than a unicorn on a blue moon drinking coffee for those wishing to reach me. I also tend to hold grudges for a long time once I’m crossed (though that takes some time), which I hardly think is a good quality, though nor am I believable to start keying cars because of it, which is better. A solid 5, perhaps?

Intelligence? Another 5. I’ve met far too many people beyond my wit to hope for anything better, but there’s perhaps some reason to doubt whether I’m really above the other half. I choose to remain optimistic in the moment.

Don’t be fooled by the numbers and assume I’m somehow feeling inferior or inadequate, however. I am quite content with who I am, and my capabilities.

My 1–10 scale would be sliding back and forth year-to-year, even-day-day.

How I rate my looks, personality and intelligence today, well into my sixth decade, is far different than how I would have ranked myself twenty, forty, or fifty years ago when I was a teenager. But it’s not what you may think . . .

I’m smarter now than I’ve ever been. I am no less kind now than I’ve ever been, but for more grateful for what I receive in kind. As far as looks - I’m pretty sure that all of us cringe at some of the photos we see of ourselves, even the Kardashians. And we give ourselves a subtle thumbs-up in others.

One piece of wisdom I’ve picked up (just to prove I’m smarter now than I’ve ever been:) — the better you feel about yourself, the better you look, the better you love and the more perceptive you are.

Having said that, my scale is pushin’ right, knockin’ on 9.
