When a straight line falls on two straight lines than the sum of interior  angles formed by the looks new is less than two right angles (180) and if the sum is less than 180 degree than the lines intersect  each other when stretched.

In geometry parallel postulate is also known as euclid fifth posulate because it is the fifth posulate in euclid elements is a distinctive axiom in euclid geometry
