How would you separate the sand from a mixture of sand and sawdust? Construct a flow chart to show the steps you would use.

Most likely any sand you have will be denser than water, so it will sink, and the sawdust is going to be less dense than water, so it should float. mix it with a large amount of water, then scrape the sawdust off the top. Make sure you give the sand time to settle first though. Once the sawdust is removed, just let the stuff dry normally, most of the minerals in that sand should remain after. If you’re trying to separate large amounts, you could try getting a very large container and do the same thing. That’s the simplest way I can think of right now at least.
