Water of crystallization is the fixed number of water molecules present in one formula unit of a salt.
When we heat copper sulphate in china dish, the blue coloured crystals changes into a white powder due to the removal of 5 molecules of water of crystallization.
CuSO4.5H2O=CuSO4+5H2O
