Exhaled air has more carbon dioxide than inhaled Air because during respiration the food breaks down with the help of oxygen to produce Carbon dioxide and water.

And that is basically what we exhale.

Therefore Exhaled air contains more Carbon dioxide than inhaled Air.

it is because when we breathe in air , the air would go to the lungs and the lungs would purify the air and make use of oxygen and exhale the carbon dioxide.
