But if a piece of Cu is placed in the solution of Silver Nitrate (AgNO3, a colorless solution) then Cu will slowly replace the Ag from AgNO3 solution thus forming a blue colored copper nitrate solution.
2AgNO3 (aq) + Cu(s) -----> Cu(NO3)2 (aq) + 2Ag(s)
This shows Ag is chemically less reactive than copper.
