(1) Steps to do a Iodine test:

Step-1: First take a leaf.

Step-2: We must remove the Chlorophyll from the leaf.

Step-3: Adding two drops of Iodine solution in it.

Step-4: If the solution helps change in colour blue, it's confirmed that there starch present in the leaf.

(2) Steps to remove chlorophyll from the leaf:

Step-1: Boil the leaf.

Step-2: Add some alcohol while the leaf boils.

Step-3: Finally, the chlorophyll is removed from the leaf.

Explanation:

Take two potted plants of the same kind. Keep one in the dark for 72 hours and the other in sunlight. Perform the iodine test with the leaves of both the plants as given below. Now leave the pot which was earlier kept in the dark, undisturbed for 3 – 4 days and perform the iodine test again on its leaves.
