it can be tested by iodine test method 1 : take a leaf tie a black cloth on the center part of the leaf leave it in a place where there is sunshine for 8-9 days after 8-9 days open the cloth you will observe the leaf center part has turned yellow due to the non presence of chlorophyll from a dropper take a drop of dilute iodine you will observe that the yellow part turns blakish blue that means it contains starch
