How would you test the presence of starch in leaves with observation ?​

Answer:

The presence of starch in leaves can be tested by the Iodine test. When we remove chlorophyll from the leaf by boiling it in alcohol and then put two drops of iodine solution, it is colour change to blue indicates the presence of starch.

Φ Boil the leaf for some time in hot water.

Φ Put the leaf into alcohol indirectly to destroy chloroplhyll.

Φ Now take out the leaf and put some iodine solution in it.

Φ If the leaf changes in to blue or black starch is present .
